Substance Use and Mental Health Training Opportunities for Disaster Response Management (STORM)

Individual Placement & Support (IPS)

Individual Placement & Support (IPS) is the evidence-based approach to supported employment that is demonstrated by an extensive research base. It is not based on a hunch but rooted in research. IPS is typically implemented in mental health agencies or other organizations serving people with disabilities. IPS is delivered using an integrated team approach because employment should be everyone’s business.

The course is split up into three-hour virtual sessions over four consecutive days. Sessions will include information including: an overview of IPS, IPS program fidelity, engaging people in the employment process, and job development. Participants are required to attend all four scheduled sessions to receive credit.
